Chaplaincy

Our National Chaplaincy Team seeks to support and mobilise Chaplains throughout Great Britain. We have expanded the number of chaplaincy sectors to encompass the growing number and variety of Chaplaincy roles within the communities we serve.

We have sector leads for:
• NHS Hospitals
• Hospices and Mental Health
• Emergency Services
• Military
• Prisons
• Education
• Sports
• Business
• Street Pastors
• Care Homes for older people and those supporting people with additional needs and learning difficulties
• Communities

Historically, AoG GB have supported AoG Ministers in Chaplaincy roles. However, we are passionate about supporting and mobilising all those within the body of Christ to serve in chaplaincy roles.

Those within the local church setting can be supported and commissioned locally to serve in such diverse places as care homes, community groups and businesses.

The work is pastoral, offering compassion and a listening ear, but also affirming and encouraging, bringing an informed Christian view to the places that we visit and people we meet. Our aim is to care for people at their point of need, communicating the love of Christ in a compassionate and practical way.

If you are a Chaplain or involved in this type of ministry, whether paid or voluntary, full or part-time and attend an AOG Church, we would love to connect with you. Let us know what area of Chaplaincy you are based in by using the link below.

AoG provides endorsement for our Ministers to work as Chaplains. Endorsement for NHS and Prison Chaplains is through our membership of the Free Churches Group and for Armed Forces Chaplaincy is through the United Navy, Army and Air Force Board.

For roles which do not require a person to hold a ministerial status, endorsement, support and prayer can be provided at a local level by agreement.
